Signing of a Partnership Agreement between LCBC and CAMWATER

A Partnership Agreement was signed on 10th May 2017 at N’Djamena, Chad between the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) represented by its Executive Secretary, Eng. SANUSI IMRAN ABDULLAHI and the Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation (CAMWATER) represented by its Director General Mr. ALPHONSE ROGER ONDOA AKOA.

This agreement is the concrete actualization of the commitment of both parties to establishing a joint platform of cooperation for the great interest of LCBC and CAMWATER, and concerns the domain of the sustainable management of water resources in the Cameroonian side of the Lake Chad basin.

This partnership shall include all the domains of common interest, notably the data collection and sharing in line with Annex v to the Lake Chad Basin Water Charter, the setting up of an observation and gauging system of water parameters, the strengthening of the capacities of the two bodies through the holding of task groups, conferences, trainings, seminars, workshops, education, the execution of programmes designed for the preservation and restoration of water resources, the promotion of sub-regional integration and cooperation, etc.
