It is with deep sorrow that I received the news of the passing of His Ex Condolence Message on the Passing of H.E. Muhammadu Buhari, Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

On behalf of the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) and the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and to the family of the deceased over this profound and irreparable loss. 

President Buhari will be forever remembered for his steadfast commitment to regional integration, security, and development. His leadership and unwavering support played an instrumental role in revitalizing the Multinational Joint Task Force and in strengthening regional cooperation in the fight against Boko Haram and other terrorist groups threatening the peace and livelihoods of the people of the Lake Chad Basin. 

He was a statesman whose legacy will endure not only within Nigeria but across the region – through his contributions to peacebuilding, his advocacy for the revitalization of Lake Chad, and his passionate call for international solidarity with the people of the Basin. 

At this time of mourning, we join the Government and people of Nigeria in paying tribute to a distinguished leader and in praying that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him an easy passage to Aljannatul Firdausi.
