Introduction
The Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to the harmonious management of the waters and other natural resources of the Lake Chad Basin, preservation of the ecosystems, and promotion of regional integration, peace, security, and development
The LCBC is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of its stakeholders, including staff, partners, experts, consultants, member state representatives, and users of its official digital platforms and information systems (e.g., website, knowledge management platforms, and official social media).

Legal Basis for Processing
The LCBC processes Personal Data only when a legal basis exists, which may include:

- Contractual Necessity: Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the Data Subject is a party (e.g., employment, consultancy).

The LCBC retains Personal Data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to satisfy any legal or reporting requirements, or as required by the LCBC’s record retention schedule.
