Durable Solutions and Protection in the Lake Chad Basin

Durable Solutions and Protection
in the Lake Chad Basin

>

Restoring Hope and Dignity Through Regional Action

The Lake Chad Basin has witnessed significant displacement and humanitarian crises due to conflict, climate change, and environmental degradation. Millions of people have been uprooted from their homes, facing insecurity, loss of live-lihoods, and limited access to basic services. The Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC), in collaboration with Member States and partners, is committed to promoting durable solutions and protection for displaced populations and vulnerable communities.

A Human-Centered Approach to Recovery

The Lake Chad Basin is home to a rich tapestry of biodiversity and eco-systems that support millions of people and countless species. However, decades of environmental degradation, climate change, and unsustainable practices have placed immense pressure on this fragile landscape. The Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) is committed to reversing these trends through strategic biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration initiatives.
