Less than 19 days for the Second Annual International Forum for the Development of the Lake Chad Region!

N’Djamena, May 4, 2023 – Organized in a hybrid format, the Second Annual International Forum for the Development of the Lake Chad Region willbring together from 23rd to 25th May 2023, in Niamey (Niger Republic), local and international actors and decision-makers, representatives of the Ministries of Cameroon, Chad, Niger, and Nigeria, LCBC, the World Bank and Governors, as well as PROLAC Implementation Units (PIUs) at the country level, academics, civil society organizations (CSO), beneficiaries, potential donors to discuss ways to address the challenges facing the region.

The Forum provides opportunity for stakeholders to discuss and agree on a common agenda for the sustainable development of the Lake Chad region. The theme of this year’s Forum is ” Regional Integration and Natural Resource Risk Management: Solutions for Sustainable Peace and Economic Development in the Lake Chad Region.” reflecting the need for a holistic approach that addresses the root causes of the challenges facing the region.

Spanning across Chad, Cameroon, Niger, and Nigeria, the Lake Chad region is facing today a range of complex challenges, including poverty, conflict, climate change, and environmental degradation, which have led to a humanitarian crisis affecting millions of people.

When: From 23rd to 25th May 2023.

Where: Mahatma Gandhi International Conference Center, Niamey – Niger

Who: Local and international actors and decision-makers, representatives of the Ministries of Cameroon, Chad, Niger, and Nigeria, LCBC, the World Bank and Governors, as well as PROLAC Implementation Units (PIUs) at the country level, academics, civil society organizations (CSO), beneficiaries, donors…
