The Executive Secretary of the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) and Head of Mission of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), H.E. Ambassador Mamman NUHU witnessed the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected President of the Republic of Niger, H.E. Bazoum Mohamed, on 2 April in Niamey.

Amb. HUHU took advantage of this historic moment, to wish the new Head of State good luck and to reiterate the commitment of LCBC to support Niger in its march towards progress and development. This ceremony marked the first democratic change in the country with an elected President ending his term of office in accordance with the Constitution and handing over to another elected President.

The Executive Secretary also he paid a courtesy visit to the outgoing President, H.E. Issoufou Mahamadou, to thank him in person for his excellent leadership and model of governance, not only at the helm of his country but also as the current Chairman of the Summit of Heads of State and Government of LCBC, from 2012 to 2018. During his tenure, he spared no time or effort to restore the image of this common regional institution facing complex multidimensional challenges.
